Ashfield Hall

From the moment you walk through the gates of Ashfield Hall it exudes sheer class, from the lush and elegant hard and soft landscaping to the luxurious interiors of these charming family homes.  Attention to detail has ensured that this development is finished to the highest standards, as you would come to expect when European Quality Award winners Tobermore combine with award winning Developers Boland Reilly Homes.

For the past 3 years Boland & Reilly Homes have won the Gold award at the British House Builders Awards, a magnificent achievement which highlights the company’s superb attention to detail.

According to Managing Director of Boland and Reilly Homes, Barry Alcorn, who is also the Chairman of the Private Housing Committee of the Construction Employers Federation, the awards may not have been won were it not for the quality products that they have introduced into their developments such as Ashfield Hall, which in Barry’s words is “the most prestigious development in the history of Boland and Reilly Homes”.

“Using very attractive hard and soft landscaping has helped us win various awards over the years. With the help of Tobermore our customers are buying into a lifestyle as well as buying a beautifully finished home” adds Barry.

Barry continues “we chose Tobermore because they had the best range of colors, textures and shapes as well as an outstanding award winning quality product to finish this up-market development”.

“Tobermore products enhanced the kerb-appeal of the homes and produced an exterior finish that is a cut above the rest. High standards inside the house were always important, but five years ago the exterior of the house was practically ignored.

In today’s housing market it is our belief that focusing on the outside of a house creates that all important wow factor”.

At the initial stages in the development Tobermore’s Landscape designer, Penny Murphy got the go ahead to make the landscaping of this development irresistible to potential buyers. She was invited to visit the scheme; discuss the project objectives and produce a set of drawings for the team.

At initial stages of the design Barry Alcorn advised Penny that they were seeking to build a development of detached properties to a standard and level of specification that has not been achieved before in Northern Ireland.

"Penny was very optimistic that she could provide exactly what we wanted and we were confident that she would bring years of landscape design experience to the table along with a quality range of products from Tobermore.

While Penny gave us some very definite guidance we also had an opportunity to give our input in terms of colours and textures of materials as well".

When asked how the housing market in Northern Ireland has affected Ashfield Hall, Barry was quick to respond.
Any house that has been built has been sold”.
Figures have shown that adding kerb-appeal is one of the most effective ways of adding value to a home and this certainly showed in sales at Ashfield Hall.

Tobermore’s landscape designer Penny Murphy used a range of Tobermore products in this development. “I wanted to keep the up market feel throughout this development and the products I used certainly didn’t let me down” says Penny.

Private driveways were paved with Tegula, in either Heather or Bracken colours with either Golden or Charcoal Tegula Setts as a neat border line. The driveways have an attractive Tegula Circle pattern along with subtle ramps and neat Kerb Stone steps leading up to the front doors.

In the patio areas to the rear of the houses, the designer choose an attractive mix of Pietra Sandstone in various colours throughout and in some cases the patios have been laid in 45° angles which is a signature of quality design.  All homes also have meandering Retro paths.

Tobermore’s Area Sales Executive, Gareth Martin said: “It was important for Barry Alcorn to create an elegant outdoor living space for the residents in this housing development and with the help of our designer Penny Murphy we feel that we have passed this challenge with flying colours.

“We’re delighted our products have been used in this up market development in Bangor. A big factor in their decision to use Tobermore was our service which is first class and of course Tobermore’s prices, for such high quality products, we are still competitive on the current market place”
“We are glad that we have helped provide such an efficient service and provide award winning products to a very happy customer”.
